Saw Nick about a full rupture of right distal bicep on the Friday after injuring it climbing on the Monday. Nick assessed the arm and asked if I wanted it fixed. He ran through the options of fixing versus leaving the rupture alone. As I climb and wanted to get back to climbing, I asked for it to be fixed. I attended surgery the folding Tuesday (8 days after the injury) and saw Nick after the surgery. All went well, he said. I had the stitches out 10 days later, when the arm came out of the sling and bandages. Very neat scar on right forearm and good tendon attachment. After the first month (just movement to restore flexibility and full range of arm positions), I went back to climbing. Just light, easy routes. Have been climbing twice a week since and getting back to where I was before the injury. Had my 2 month check up today, admitted I'd been climbing and showed Nick a video of what I'd been doing. He was, perhaps, a little taken aback by the amount of use I was putting it through but was happy that I was being sensible with what I was doing and that I had no issues with it. I'll wait another month or so before returning to full training with pull ups and chin ups (the full flexion is the bit I'm most cautious with) and I'm sure the bicep will return to its normal size once I start putting more weight through it. Overall, really nice guy who had done an amazing job on reattaching my bicep. Really professional but friendly and a very skilled surgeon. Amazing stuff, can't believe that in less than 3 weeks from injuring myself, I was out of bandages and stitches removed, all on the NHS and I was back climbing 4 weeks later. Thanks Doctor Nick!

We had chosen Epsom Hospital because we had had previous good experiences there with an elderly relative's elective surgery. We also were impressed with Mr. Little's reputation, choosing him for my treatment. We were not disappointed. The implications of my condition, its required treatment and likely outcomes were fully explained by Mr Little, increasing my confidence in him and his team. The operation was successful. I was subsequently seen by another member of the team, Jeff Thisleton who then guided me through my rehabilitation. The operation was a great success. I have nothing but praise for Mr Little and his whole team. I would thoroughly recommend them to anybody looking to have this treatment (shoulder cuff damage).

First class.....not only an excellent surgeon, but a wonderful bedside manner, who allayed any fears, explained the procedure, and who inspired confidence. I can't fault him, or his team, superb. After surgery for a full reverse shoulder replacement my 82 year old mother spent the night in the specialist orthopaedic centre, a unit attached to Epsom Hospital, and she was looked after very well......again first class care and attention. She then transferred to a main ward and was sent home on Friday, having been operated on on the Wednesday. I highly recommend Nick Little, an asset to the NHS.

Firstly, From the first visit to date when I met Nick his approach was welcoming and very approachable. He gave a full explanation of the pros and cons of having to have surgery on my Left shoulder. Surgery went well, I can now move my shoulder freely, as it was explained to me there are no guarantees on the op results, but I will say it might not be 100% perfect but it definitely is a 100% better. Now 2+ years after having my Left shoulder surgery, my Right shoulder has been causing me problems for the 18mths or so. I had no hesitation in requesting that I only wanted Nick Little to do the examination due to the way he dealt with me in the past and the patient service he provided. I am at present under Nick again for my right shoulder and we are going through the procedure once more, starting with the injection in the shoulder and if it comes back to having surgery then I've got full confidence and re-assurance with Nick Little.

I was in considerable pain with a shoulder problem and we feel Mr Little went above and beyond in his care duties to get him into hospital after carefully consulting with his colleagues to provide the best solution to a non obvious problem. He also took the time to call us personally and was also available to accept calls from us which was extremely helpful during a very stressful time. We have been able to thank him personally at a recent follow up appointment but would like to repeat our thanks here as without his care we don't think there would have been such a good outcome.
